The University of Hawaii at Manoa section held a successful fundraising event in collaboration with a night club. The Ka Night Club Fundraiser held on October 8, 2011, themed SWEET SENSATION, was a very successful fundraiser for us. We worked closely with the co-manager of Ka Restaurant and Lounge to set up the fundraiser. We printed 300 pre-sale tickets for $40.00, and sold each ticket for $5. The ticket granted the ticket holder free cover charge and a free drink if presented at the night club by 11pm. SWE was able to keep all sales from the tickets; the only expense we had was the $40.00 to print the tickets. Our fundraiser generated $1210.00 and an unforgettable night of fun and memories for many engineering students and engineers alike.

That is a great idea for a fundraiser, but with a primary school the students tend not to be out after 9pm, bless em, but an afternoon/early evening disco could definitely work! I suppose the venue supplied everything, that’s where this fails, unless we try the church hall, although they wont have a bar or disco, hummmm. start again, maybe a bowing venue could work? whoever thought fundraising could be so difficult and yet crucial!
